One of the biggest Superstar Akshay Kumar also known as “Khiladi” was born on 9th September 1967 in Amritsar. He is an Indian-born Canadian actor. His father Hari Om Bhatia and mother Aruna Bhatia and a sister Alka Bhatiya. Akshay Kumar’s real name was Rajeev Hari Om Bhatia. He married to Twinkle Khanna and a couple has two children.

Since his teenage years, he always wanted to become an actor. Akshay has won many awards including the National Film Award for Best Actor, Padam Shri and other awards.

During his school years, he had a keen interest in Martial Arts and he also earned Black Belt in Taekwondo. To improve his Martial Arts skills he moved to Bangkok and learned Muay Thai. As soon he completed learning Martial Arts he returned to India and started teaching Martial Arts.

During his time as a martial arts teacher, a student’s father suggested him to try modelling. Akshay took his suggestion seriously and he started modeling. Modelling helped him financially then teaching Martial Arts. Unfortunately one day he missed his flight to Bangalore where he was going for a modelling assignment.

Never the less it came out a big surprise for him as he was signed as a lead for the movie “Dedaar” which was directed by Pramod Chakravarthy.

Just after “Dedaar” movie, he got another lead role in Saugandh in 1991. But he got his popularity from the movie Khiladi which was directed by Abbas Mastaan. After this movie, he earned a huge fan following with his charming acting.  In 1993 he had a string of flop movies but he did not lose hope.

He took a break for few months while searching for a good script. Just after some time he got a major role in “Main Khiladi Tu Anadi” which was the highest grossing film of that year. There was surely no looking back after that.

Akshay gained popularity for his drama, romance and comedy roles.  Few of his commendable works are Dhadkan, Namastey London, Hera Pheri, Waqt, Special 26, Gabbar is Back, Rustom,  Airlift, Jolly LLB 2, Toilet Ek Prem Katha.
